Day 1
Morning: Depart from San Francisco, CA.
Day 2
Afternoon: Arrive in Beijing, China. (+15 hours)
Airport pickup.
Hotel Check-in.
Evening: Welcome dinner –Beijing Duck!
Day 3
Morning: Visit Tiananmen Square - world’s largest square. Afterward, experience the historical Forbidden City, where the Emperors ruled.
Evening: Kung-Fu show.
Day 4
Morning: Visit the Great Wall, one of the greatest wonders of the world.
Afternoon: visit Ming Dynasty Emperor Tombs and visit the Royal china factory.
Evening: Visit National Stadium and the Water Cube, venues of the 2008 Olympics.
Day 5
Morning: Visit Beijing’s Capital Museum, features an interactive multimedia hall and get an overview of centuries of cultural relics.
Afternoon: Visit the Temple of Heaven, a masterpiece of architecture and landscape design.
Day 6
Morning: Visit the Summer Palace National Park, back when the royals vacationed.
Afternoon: Depart to Chongqing.
Evening: Check-in to on-campus hotel at Chongqing Technology & Business University(CQTBU).
Day 7
Morning: CQTBU welcome orientation
Afternoon: Campus tour and meet with student "buddy".
Evening: Welcome dinner on campus.
Day 8
Morning: Class – Chinese language + culture.
Afternoon: Tour Chongqing, visit the city’s planning commission and tour the site where the Yangtze River and Jialing River meet.
Evening: Western style buffet dinner then cultural exchange with Chinese students.
Day 9
Morning: Class-Chinese language + history.
Afternoon: Industry vist: Motorcyclle production plant.
Evening: Dumpling dinner.
Day 10
Morning: Class-Discussion on the development of modern China.
Afternoon: Activity day and students mixer.
Evening: Free time.
Day 11
Morning: Class – Introduction to Chinese folk-art, learn the intricacies of paper cutting.
Afternoon: Roundtable discussion with Western China American Chamber of Commerce.
Evening: Dinner cruise on the Yangtze River & Jialing River.
Day 12
Morning: Class – Introduction to Chinese calligraphy and painting.
Afternoon: Meet with Chongqing (CQ) city officials. CQ is the Best City to Invest in China with a population of 32 million. Chance to ask questions first hand with city leaders.
Evening: Visit South Coast District and join the “People’s Culture Activity Nite”.
Day 13
Morning: Class – Chinese Kung Fu lessons
Afternoon: Industry visit Hotpot food processing plant. CQ cuisine features the numb-spicy taste. Learn the history and unique food culture.
Evening: Hotpot dinner.
Day 14
Morning: Class -discussion and review.
Afternoon: Visit Ciqikou - an ancient pier/town dated back to Ming & Qing Dynasty.
Evening: Farewell dinner.
Day 15
Morning: Coach to Chengdu – see the transition from urban to rural.
Afternoon: Visit the Dazu Rock carving - a World Heritage site, home of religious sculptures and carvings, dated back to the 7th Century.
Evening: Hotel check-in at Chengdu.
Day 16
Morning : Jinsha Museum – The site was first unearthed in early 2001, over 2,000 relics have been found in the ruins.
Afternoon: Visit Old Town Chengdu, lunch at traditional food stands.
Evening: Chinese opera with tea and dinner.
Day 17
Morning: Visit Panda Research Center in Chengdu, a demonstration project of giant panda conservation.
Afternoon: Visit the ancient back alley ways of the city.
Day 18
Morning: Depart from Chengdu to Shanghai.
Afternoon: Visit to Chenghuang Temple.
Evening: Dinner and visit the Bund, river view to Shanghai financial district.
Day 19
Morning: Visit to the World Financial Center, Tallest building in China.
Evening: Dinner at the Tea House with culture performance.
Day 20
Morning: Trip to Zhouzhuang water townships. It has been called the "Venice of the East" .
Evening: Dinner at Tea House Art Center with musical performance.
Day 21
Morning: Meglev ride at 361mph to Shanghai Airport, depart for USA.
